It's a Royal Baby!!

Busy busy weeks mean fast fast weeks!  Here's my High 5 for Friday for this week!

1. I had a great time celebrating Aunt Tracee's birthday at Tokyo's with all the girls!  The best part?  Champagne cupcakes from the awesome Kates.Cakes!

{Celebrating Tracee with Sushi & Hibachi}

{You haven't lived until you've had a Champagne Cupcake with Raspberry Filling}

2. Bible Study night is quickly becoming one of my favorite nights of the week.  It's such a wonderful opportunity for us to get together and learn how to be better wives.  This week the topic was "Loving Your Husband."  Did you know the Bible has 4 different words for love and that wives and husbands are commanded to love each other different ways.  The wife is supposed to "Phileo" love her husband, which is a tender, affectionate love; and the husband is supposed to "Agape" love his wife, which is a self-sacrificing love like Christ loved the Church!  It's amazing how convicting something so small as how you're supposed to Biblically love your husband can be!  I look forward to next week when we talk about "loving our children."  None of us have children yet (just one baby girl in utero), so I'm curious to see where this takes us.

3. We found out this week that Little Baby Walter will be a BOY!

{Baby Boy Walter will be here December 2013}

4. Our condo FINALLY got new sliding-glass doors!  I'm hoping they're more energy efficient and our electricity bill will go down!!

5. And my favorite news of this week?!  The Royal Baby was born on Monday, July 22, and it's a BOY!  I'll admit I was pretty bummed it wasn't a Princess, but it's still exciting with all the tradition and hoopla of the British Monarchy.  Here's to His Royal Highness, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge

{The Golden Easel that formally announced the birth}

{Prince George}

Oh my goodness, that little ball of baby goodness makes my heart melt!  I can't wait till all my pregnant friends have their babies in December!  I need some newborn cuddles to squash some of my baby fever! Haha!  That's all for now!

Happy 20th Birthday, Dakota!

This Monday is unlike other Mondays!  Yes, I'm bummed the weekend is over, BUT some exciting news I've been waiting, oh.. say 9 months for has finally happened!! Princess Kate is in labor!!  I've literally been on the edge of my seat all July waiting for this day!  (Yes, I realize I'm overly stupidly excited about a baby that has nothing to do with me..)  Anyways, this news makes my Monday 110% better! :)

So now a little recap..

Friday night after a long boring day at work, we headed over to Mom's house for a cookout to celebrate Dakota's 20th birthday! I can't believe my baby brother is 20!  Mom's excited for the moment she has no teenagers!  But after Dakota's birthday next year, I think our ages are actually kind of neat.  I'll be 25, Dakota 21, and Hannah 13.  All kind of  "milestone" ages!

Saturday was another rainy day in Pensacola (huge shocker).  Me and Ethan stayed indoors, cleaning the house and watching a couple episodes of Game of Thrones.  Saturday night we went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa at Iveys.  Such a yummy little restaurant in Fairhope, AL.  I had the fried eggplant medallions with shrimp and crab meat.  After dinner we headed back to their house and watched Fracture.

Sunday morning was church.  It was a good message about "the writing on the wall" and the four times God's finger actually wrote something.  We had lunch and spent the afternoon with Taylor and Colin.  Me and Taylor went antiquing (yea, that's a word) and did a crazy workout - the Four workout on the rowing machine (4 min. on, 4 min break, 4 min. on, 3 min. break, 4 min. on, 2 min. break, 4 min. on, 1 min. break, 4 min. on).  It's killer and then top it off we did some sort of timed push ups, sit ups, and squats routine.  I was dead by the time we were done!  Taylor's heart rate monitor says she burned about 330 calories so I'm thinking I burned around 400 since I'm bigger than her.  Today I'm definitely feeling my workout!

Oh, and a little baby update to get it going..

Marissa & Lewis - GIRL
Kendra & Ed - GIRL
Ashley & Cameron - Find out today!
Mary Ann & Ej - Find out Wednesday!
Princess Kate and William - IN LABOR!!

Like I've said before, I'm surrounded by babies! ;)

I've got a busy busy week this week, but that's cool with me because it means it will just fly by!!

High Five for Friday

Holy cow, where did this week go?!  Here's my Five for this week!

1.  On Monday I went to my Grandparents' house to spend a little quality time with them.  They were both in such good moods.  I just love them so much!

2.  Tuesday started a Bible study with a great group of ladies - we're discussing the book "Feminine Appeal" and the seven Godly characteristics of the Titus 2 woman.  I think I'm really going to enjoy this Bible Study since a "group study" isn't something I've never done!

3.  Ethan and I are thisclose to paying off 3 of our big bills! We've still got miles to go to be debt-free and it's going to take some dedication, but it's refreshing and motivating to be able to check those few off the list!

4. I've been doing really good on my diet and exercise.  I'm attempting a month of straight cardio so see how that treats me.  (Rather than mixing cardio with weight-training.. working on a theory of mine.)  Last week I was able to run 5 nights and do a Crossfit workout on Saturday with the boys.  This week I've managed to run 2 nights (so far) and do the rowing machine at Taylor's once.  Man.. rowing will make you sweat like cuh-razy!  I'll probably run again tonight when we get home from Dakota's family birthday party and again on Saturday.

5. I'm completely surrounded by babies these days.  I've got a close friend, a cousin, another two friends, a blogger I follow, and the Royal Baby to watch!  All except the Royal Baby (which is due ANY-freaking-DAY now!!) are all due in December, so I have plenty of "bump-watching" to do! :)

So ready for the weekend!  Me and Ethan really don't have any plans, so I'm looking forward to some R&R (and Game of Thrones - Season 2!)

Weekend at Bernie's.. I mean Taylor's

I'm absolutely sick of the rain.. for the past two weeks or so my poor weekends have been soggy.  Even though it's been raining nonstop, we haven't let it put a damper (pun intended) on us going out and being little social butterflies!

Friday night we headed over to Sarah's house for Zoee's 9th Birthday Party!  Funniest moment was when I walked in, Zoee looks me up and down and says "I don't think you should eat any pizza."  Umm.. Ok?!  I look at her, while Sarah is watching with suspense as Zoee is unpredictable with her comments, and say "why not?"  She nonchalantly says "because you're wearing a white shirt." Deep breath out.. Zoee does not want me to eat pizza for my diet-sake but because it's messy. Oh, Zoee, you are a trip!

{Birthday Girl}

Once the kids left for Sam's Fun City, I left with Taylor and Katie to head over to My Place Pensacola's Ladies' Night.  It was lame.  Probably won't waste my time going to another one, unless it's specifically for something I'm interested in like the time they were doing cheap 3D ultrasounds for pregnant ladies.  No worries, we fixed the lame ladies' night by heading over to Five Sisters for some super yummy soul food!  After that we headed back to Taylor's house and just hung out.

Saturday was the Pensacola Beach Air Show.  I wanted to stay home and watch the show and hang out at the beach, but somehow I got talked into going to Daniel's parents' house to BBQ and layout by their pool with Taylor and Katie.  We got to BBQ, but the weather was a bust and it go so bad that we actually lost power!  Sucks because we were in the process of making a dessert pizza, but no power, no oven, no pizza! :( Since the power went out, we headed back over to Taylor's house.  I did my first Crossfit WOD (workout of the day).  It was 400 meters of walking lunges. Easy-peasy.. NOT!  Three days later and my legs are still the equivalent of a newborn horse - all wobble-y and jello-y.  Probably the last time I ever do THAT many lunges.

{Photoshop my face in there!}

Saturday night was Marissa's Gender Reveal Party for Little Baby G!! :)  Everything was decorated so cute with chalkboards and burlap!

{Bowties or Hairbows?!}

Marissa and Lewis had a cute little cake with the inside dyed blue for a boy or pink for a girl.

{Cutting the Cake to find out!!}

{Jumping up and down for a GIRL!!}

{YAY!! A sweet baby GIRL to spoil!!}

We are so excited and can't wait to spoil their BABY GIRL!! Little McKinley June will be here to spoil in December!

After the party, we went to the movies with Taylor and Colin, Leslie and Jourdan, and saw World War Z.  Oh my gosh, BEST movie I've seen in a long time and trust me.. this summer I feel like we've been at the theater EVER.STINKIN.WEEKEND!  I'm not a "go-to-the-movies" type of person.. I prefer to watch a movie braless and in the comfort of my own home! Haha!

Sunday was my typical go to church.  Ethan played heathen and went golfing instead.  After service I headed back over to Taylor's house (are we catching the theme of my weekend?!) to lay out with Marissa and her by the pool.  We got some quality girl time in and some much needed sun!  We ended up staying at Taylor's house till around 10 p.m.

Weekends go by so fast these days!  After our super long 5-day weekend for the 4th, it's hard to go back to the ole regular 2-day weekends!  Anywhos, it's only Tuesday and I'm so ready for next weekend! Until then,

Happy 4th of July!

For the holiday weekend, me and Ethan had a wonderful, lazy 5-day weekend. (Ethan actually had 6, but we don't need his bragging!)  The weather was terrible, but we had the best of it!

Thursday was the 4th and we had everyone over at the condo!  Me, Ethan, Sarah, Nate, Jesse, Zoee, Lucy, Emily, Rajko, Nikola, Dakota, and Alexis - it was a packed house!  The rain did hold off that day, and we relaxed by the pool while the kiddos swam, ate at Flounder's for lunch, rode the wave runner, and later watched the fireworks from the balcony!  The best part of the day was when me and Ethan decided to go watch the huge waves on Pensacola Beach.  As we were walking over, Ethan noticed a $10 bill laying in the sand. Well that money was tied to a string that some punk kids were reeling in from the pier, well.. Ethan was fast enough and snatched it up, breaking the line and getting the $10! Haha their stupid faces were priceless!  We didn't return the money, because that's the price you play! ;) When we got back after our walk, the kids were still playing their game, but had downgraded to a $1.. it was still pretty funny watching people run after a dollar!  Especially the lady with a BABY!  Anyways, they were good sports and told us to spend our money wisely!

{Me & Ethan}

 {Dakota & Alexis}

After the fireworks, we chowed down on some Joe Patti shrimp and bread!  Everyone except the Wards went home.  Friday, Dakota had to work, but Me, Ethan, and Alexis had a long, boring, totally unproductive day at home. It was raining and we literally sat on the couches all day watching movies.  Friday night we did go to the movies and see Despicable Me 2!  Such a cute movie!!

Saturday, me and Ethan decided we were getting out of the house!  We headed over to the Navy Museum. I don't think I've ever been even thought Ethan swears every 10th grade class at PCA goes.  I'm pretty sure my year was the year they cut that! {btw.. I'm totally right..}

{Naval Aviation Museum}

Saturday night we hit up my parents house for some grilled steak and domino's.  Since Mom didnt' have the double 12 domino's, I volunteered to watch the Walking Dead marathon on TV. Haha! I've grown very accustomed to just lying around!  We stayed the night and went to Church the next day.  Again, we didn't do anything Sunday after Church.  We did get to go to Cracker Barrel after Sunday night church! Yum Yum!

Monday was another day off.. probably should have gone to work since the weather was once again crap, but it was nice having another day off!  We ran some errands and then headed over to the Howell household.  Me and Taylor hit up some thrift shops for a Pinterest project I'm working on! I'll post a picture of it when I've actually made it! Ethan's really into Crossfit right now, so he's been working out at the Howell Gym with a couple of guys from Colin's unit.  Ethan and I are back on our roller coaster of a diet..  we're on the 3rd day and I've already lost 2.2 lbs! I'm really going to try to lose 10 lbs by August 1!

We've got a fun weekend coming up with the Pensacola Beach Air Show and the Garvin Baby Gender Reveal Party!!

High Five for Friday.. on a Monday!

How awesome to be so busy over the weekend I didn't have time to write my H54F on actual Friday?!  Here's the highlights over the past week/weekend.

1.  It was a pretty slow week at work, but that allowed me to work ahead BIG time!  I got to leave an hour early on Tuesday (Blue Wahoos game) and Wednesday (church) and take a half day on Friday! Woot-woot!

{6/25/13 Blue Wahoos Game}

2.  Dana and Brandy were in town visiting this weekend, so I got to see them Thursday night, all of Friday afternoon, and Saturday!  Talk about some serious tan that I got this weekend!  Thank you, Lord, for some gorgeous weather!

{Gorgeous Sunset from our Thursday Night Waverunner Ride}

3.  I went with Mom on Friday night to pickup Hannah from camp.  Thankful that a.) she didn't want to eat dinner at camp and b.) she didn't win any awards during the week so we didn't have to stay for the awards ceremony.

4.  Hannah's baby chicks finally hatched.  "Nugget" hatched on Tuesday and "Tyson" hatched on Thursday.  Hannah fell instantly in-love with the little guys.  The only bad news I have from this is that somehow they disappeared on Sunday.  The door to the coop was left open and Buffy (momma chicken) must have left the nest with the babies following her and when she got back in the coop they were too small to get back up.  So sad.

{Family Pic while "Tyson" is still hatching}

5.  I was able to have some quality time with a lot of people that I love.  I got to lay out at the gorgeous Pensacola Beach with Mom, Aunt Terri, Dana, and Brandy on Friday and Saturday.  My Mom and Hannah stayed over Friday night and we watched This Means War and Hannah practiced her fish-tail braid on me about 100 times.  Saturday evening I went on a date with my favorite person in the whole wide world.  We hit up the mall, got sushi for dinner, and bought Despicable Me (we still haven't watched it since we're such party animals and fell asleep during it.. again).  Sunday afternoon I went to the mall with Alexis and Dakota to buy Mom a birthday present.  Taylor came along too and after we went to her house to hang out.  Sunday night we had dinner with the Howells, the Cunninghams, and Mike & Amanda at Outback.

Bonus happy moments:

1.  Dexter: Season 8 started Sunday night.  Of course me and Ethan were too late to catch the 8:00 showing, so we brilliantly decided to stay up for the 11:00 showing.  Needless to say, we didn't make it.  Ethan doesn't even remember the opening credits and I fell asleep about 20 minutes in.  Guess we'll watch it On-Demand tonight!

2.  I scored a super cute pair of FSU shoes at Belk for $4.02!  How you ask?!  Well, last weekend, I found these super cute burlap TOMs-looking FSU shoes at Belk for $40!  I had just bought out Charlotte Russe during their Happy Hour, so I told Ethan I could wait till next payday to get the shoes.  I had a $20 gift card from my birthday, but they'd still be $20 out of my pocket.  Since we're such mall rats, we went back to the mall again this weekend.  Ethan worked with Grandpa on Saturday and made some extra cash!  He so generously gave me half!! Awesome Husband Award! ;) Anyways, I decided since Ethan gave me some extra money I'd go ahead and get the shoes.  I've honestly thought about them night and day!  We get to Belk and the shoes are part of a 1-day Sale.  $29.99 Score!  Then my frugal self checked retailmenot.com and scored a 10% off coupon.  Double Score!  THEN I find out my gift card is $25!! Triple Score!! So I walk outta there having only paid $4.02 for my super awesome cute shoes!  I'm pretty sure that's like a 90% savings!!

What a great weekend!  This week I've only got to work 3 days and then I'll have a glorious 5-day weekend!  Super excited!  We've got lots of fun planned for this holiday weekend! :)
