Making Macarthur Manor // Breaking Ground

Last week {6/18} Ethan had an onsite visit with our Project Supervisor, Donnie. Ethan said it was a great meeting and he feels confident in the direction and timeline that Donnie provided us for the construction of our forever home! Basically Donnie said that they could start clearing and preparing the lot as soon as possible because you don't have to wait for the County permits to do so. But once everything is cleared, then it'll be a couple weeks before they can pour the foundation. He also said that his land clearing crew was on standby to get started as soon as possible.

After months and months of struggling with the bank and getting held up at every. single. corner, it was nice to finally hear that we were a priority and people were ready to get started on our house! And super awesome to hear we could maybe, just maybe have a foundation poured before Little Miss makes her appearance!

Donnie told Ethan that by Sunday they'd have the lot staked off to mark the positioning of the house on the lot. So when Ethan and I stopped by on Sunday afternoon, we only expected to see stakes and rope marking the property, not actual dirt moved and the shape of our house cut out! It was an awesome surprise to say the least! I asked my aunt {who lives next door} when they did it and she said they worked sun up to sun down on Saturday!

I'm so excited to say that construction on our forever home has started! They've officially broke ground! :)

I'm sure this will be the 1st of many, many more house update posts! :)
