She's Here! // Announcing Charlotte Reese

Our sweet Charlotte Reese arrived at 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2015, weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.
Charlotte suffered from Meconium Aspiration Syndrome and was rushed to our local NICU by ambulance from the hospital she was born at. She's still currently in the NICU, where we anticipate her to stay for a while. She's very sick and needs a great deal of healing.
Please lift our sweet girl up to our Lord in your prayers for complete healing.
If you'd like to still follow along with her progress, I post her daily updates on my Instagram @klm61210.

Humpday Bumpday // Week 39

{39 weeks + 6 days}
how far along: Well.. we've made it to 39 weeks.

due date: July 20th.. which means by the time anyone reads this, this date is past.

appointment update: Good appointment! My blood pressure was back in the 120s and Doc said my urine sample looked good, so I'm guessing that means any proteins that had been showing aren't growing. I gained a few pounds this week.. yikes, but honestly I haven't been trying. I've hit that point where I almost don't care. {Pass the ice cream..} Char's heart rate was good in the 140s. Doc didnt' check her size or positioning, but we did check me and I'm now 50% effaced {up from 0% last week} and still 1 cm dilated. If I make it to my next appointment {7/24} we'll schedule when I'll be induced!
size of the baby:
{The Bump app}
{What to Expect app -- EEK! Single digit days!}
baby is: probably able to flex her limbs now and her brain is still rapidly developing! Her little fingernails may extend past the fingertips! Pass the nail polish! ;)
{Ovia Pregnancy app -- Almost fully grown!}
movement: Slowing down, but definitely still moving and grooving. Doc warned me she should move at least 10 times every 1-2 hours and to go in to triage if I haven't felt her move in 4 hours so she can be monitored.
total weight gain: Hit that 2-0-0 at the doctor's office.. I blame it on my shoes. Or maybe the extra ice cream and pasta I've been eating this week.

stretch marks: No new ones in awhile. I'm a little concerned about what may be lying under my belly button where I can't see?! I ask Ethan all the time if he sees anything, and he always says no, but I've had a few girlfriends discover those "under the bellybutton" marks after the baby is born. Guess time will tell.
symptoms: Achy joints, swollen(ish) feet, confusion. Seriously though on the confusion, I just feel like a ditz these days. I was telling Ethan which side of a restaurant I was on since I got there before him and was seated and I swear it took my 3 or 4 times to get it right.. "when you walk in, turn left. No, wait, you're gonna turn right. I'm to the right. Oh, wait, no I'm to the left. Yea, the left."

wedding rings on or off: Off and still sporting my "promise ring" Haha!

belly button in or out: O.U.T.
maternity clothes: are a girl's best friend.
sleep: Tossing and turning. The weight of this belly is rough, mixed with potty breaks 2-3 times a night, and things are not pretty!
missing: normal-sized feet. I look like Fred Flintstone walking around by the end of the day. I tried on a couple different pairs of shoes this weekend.. all of them were a big, fat NOPE! Haha!
cravings/aversions: Just getting in whatever I want right now because once baby is here it's Operation Post Baby Bod! So pass me the pasta, Klondike bars, S'mores, and chocolate milk.
cries: I'm not going to lie.. I've cried about still being pregnant a few times this week. I'm getting so impatient that it's not even funny. My mood is increasingly decreasing.

nursery: Finally posted all the pictures! You can see it here!
ethan is: guessing I'll be induced on the 27th. Excuse me while I go pout..
best moments: Spending a weekend with Ethan. We went out to dinner twice, drove around old historic neighborhoods, and just enjoyed each other's company.

not so best moments: I was squatting down to pick up something in the bathroom and slipped.. only "fell" about 2 feet, but straight on my bum and my back hit the wall. My poor tush!

looking forward to: Having a baby. Or my next appointment. Whichever comes first.

next appointment: July 24

Making Macarthur Manor // We've Got Plumbing!

 I'm sure at some point these posts will become annoying for some.. or probably most! Haha! :) I'm honestly just trying to keep track of the progress so we know when we were told something was going to happen or whatnot!
But the exciting news on the Macarthur Manor front is that we've got all our pipes laid for the plumbing and the footers dug for the foundation to be poured! The crews are supposed to start laying the rebar on Monday this week and hopefully, pending good weather, start pouring our foundation on Wednesday! It was really cool to walk on the pre-foundation with the pipes sticking out knowing exactly where your fridge is going to go or your master tub will be!
{Far corner is our garage; Ethan is standing basically at the front door}
{Standing in our bedroom, looking at the back porch}
{Front corner is Charbaby's forever room!}
{Standing at our front door}
So there we have it and hopefully the next time I update we'll have a foundation and maybe even some walls up! I know the foundation has to cure for a couple days, but if the weather holds up and things keep moving, the builder said we'll start framing next week! And quite honestly, hopefully I'm holding a baby in the next pictures! ;)

Weekending // Beach, Palafox Market & Birthdays

 So I was a little off when I said last weekend could have been our last weekend before the baby.. so maybe this weekend was our last weekend? Or maybe I should stop guessing because I'm jinxing myself? I'm a little superstitious when it comes to this sort of stuff!
I did enjoy a wonderful weekend full of family, friends, and Ethan time! My cousins from Mississippi were in town for the weekend, so I spent Friday at the beach with them. It was a gorgeous sunny and hot day.. until the bottom fell out of the sky! Luckily I had driven the 100 yards from my house to the beach, so we all pilled up in my car and escaped the thunderstorm pretty easily!
Friday night I had a little date night with my E. I had heard that eggplant parmesan will put you in labor and we've joked forever that if I made it to the weekend before my due date we'd go out specifically for some eggplant parm. It was delicious, but unfortunately did not put me in labor. We also walked around the mall a little bit {another old wives' tale..} It was good spending time just me and him. I'm not sure how I'll take this whole "sharing" him thing. He's kind of my favorite person.
{Date Night}
Saturday morning me and E hit the town again. We went to the Palafox Market {a little farmer's market that happens every Saturday morning downtown}. We walked around looking at each booth and both got drinks from the East Hill Honey Company. Ethan got the black tea with honey and I go the honey lemonade. Both very good, and both very sweet! Afterwards we drove around the historic North Hill District looking at all the old mansions built in the 1900s, then went to our niece Zoee's birthday party.
{Palafox Market}
Sunday was my brother's 22nd birthday so we had a shrimp boil at my parent's house for him. We hung out at my parent's house all day, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company.
{Happy Birthday, Dakota!}
Thankfully this is my last week at work before I go out on maternity leave. That's right.. crazy here is 40 weeks pregnant today still working full-time. So pending that I actually make it without a baby all week, I'll get induced sometime early next week and I don't see the point in coming in for a day! Hopefully this week either flies by or we get a baby at some point! :)
Hope everyone has a great Monday! You do anything exciting this weekend?!

Charlotte's Nursery // Version 1.0

I'm to the point where I feel like maybe, just maybe if I share her full nursery reveal, she'll make her grand appearance. Or maybe I'm just being superstitious and overly hopeful. Ha! I affectionately call this nursery "Version 1.0" because it's her temporary nursery until we move into our forever home later this year. I wasn't able to put up a lot on the walls because our condo has metal support beams that we can't drill in to. Thank God for Command Hooks. Seriously, those things are awesome!
I never really wanted a theme for her nursery, but more of a color palette that she can easily grow up with. Nothing too childish, but not to grown up either, and definitely not screaming pink. I've always been obsessed with nurseries and the idea of decorating my own was the one thing I couldn't wait to get started on!
Like I said earlier, the blank walls will be filled in once we move. I can't tell you how many times I've pouted to Ethan about not being able to fill in every nook and cranny! Another thing that will be amazing about her nursery 2.0 is the giant window she has. This room is so dark that it was really hard to photograph! Boo!

{Bedding // Crib // Print Set from TJMaxx}

I really wanted to do a coral, mint, and gold theme originally, but after having two people drop out on making my bedding, my paranoid self decided to not go the custom route and ordered from I couldn't have been happier with my decision, even if it made my "nursery vision" shift drastically. It was like a weight had been lifted and it was one less thing to worry about! I'd highly recommend ordering from them. They offer sales multiple times per year, along with coupon codes and free shipping.

{Baby's 1st Year Book // Lamp from Hobby Lobby}
Her glider and nightstand are my favorite little corner. Version 2.0 will have book shelves incorporated into it, but for right now, even as it is, it's my favorite. I can't count the times I've rocked in that glider and can't wait for the day when she's in my arms and we're rocking together.

{Baskets from TJMaxx}
Her bookcase was definitely a labor of love. Poor Ethan, he's got his super pregnant wife begging him to take the backing off the perfectly good bookcase and paint it glittery gold! I love how it turned out and I also love that the shoes he wore while spray painting it now have little gold flecks on them. I told him to get used to being covered in glitter. He's a girl dad now!

{"Isn't She Lovely" Print Set // Canvas Print from Hobby Lobby // Frames from Old Time Pottery}

At first, Ethan wasn't so sure about a blue dresser for a girl's room, but I promised him it'd look good once the colorful bedding and other d├ęcor was involved! I love how the blue turned out and I love the little crystal drawer knobs!

And because he's so cute and I like him a lot - here's Ethan photo-bombing my nursery photo shoot! I think he likes the glider about 1,000 time more than I do! What's really fun is I get to do another nursery reveal down the road! Stay tuned for Version 2.0 coming late 2015!

Humpday Bumpday // Week 38

how far along: 38 weeks

due date: July 20th

appointment update: MUCH better appointment than last week! There's still trace amounts of protein in my urine, but my blood pressure was down from being 134/something to 120s/something. Still a little higher than I normally am, but let's face it, I'm kind of super pregnant at this point. I didn't gain any weight this week and my belly is measuring at 37 weeks. Doc said I had the "perfect round little baby belly." {Excuse me for a second.. toot toot! ;) } Charlotte's heart rate was in the 130s and she was squirming, so we're good there!

For forever my Doc has been telling me at "38 weeks I'll check you." Well this was my 38 week, 3 days appointment, so the MA had me undress and wait for Doc. Doc comes in and says "Oh, I'm so sorry they had you undress. I'm not checking you today." I bet you could have picked my jaw off the floor. I said, "What?! You said you'd check me at 38 weeks." She says "Oh, no I never check at 38, always 39, because even if you have a little progress there's nothing I can do. It's not medically recommended to induce before 39 weeks." So stunned.. I said ok and silently pouted in my head. When she asked me if I had had any bleeding, spotting, or cramping like she does every week I replied, "if I say 'yes,' will you check me?" She laughed at me and I told her no, everything had been perfect. We have a good relationship and that's something I'm so thankful for! But at the end of the appointment she asked if I really wanted to be checked. I told her "HECK YES for my sanity!" So long story short: {as of 7/9/15} I'm 1 cm dilated, but my cervix is still high and long. It's not much, but it's something and I'm really hoping we have more progression by my next appointment on the 16th!
size of the baby:
{The Bump app}
baby is: slowly shedding that white goo on her skin (called vernix caseosa) but we still might see some of it at birth. She's still continuing to add fat and fine-tuning her little brain and nervous system!
{Ovia Pregnancy app}
movement: Movement is definitely slowing down. Most of my apps say that baby is reaching the sleep cycle that she'll have when she's a newborn. If this is the case, we've got a good sleeper on our hands! {Please, please be true!} Although my doctor says that baby's at 38 weeks should still be very active and I should feel her every 2-3 hours and go into triage if I haven't felt her move in 4-6.
total weight gain: Still hanging out at 196, up 38 lbs.
{And this would be my "up 38 lbs." face - 4 weeks on left; nearly 39 weeks on right}

stretch marks: Chest, bum, and left hip have some marks. I feel like they'll fade though.
symptoms: Can impatience be a symptom? {By the time this is actually published, I'll be nearly 39.5 weeks along, hopefully.. hopefully I have a baby in my arms by then!} I've also got shooting nerve pain in my hips, slight swelling in my feet, some lower back pain, and overall tiredness.

wedding rings on or off: Off, but sporting a very "promise ring" looking ring these days. Haha! It's a ring Ethan got me for Christmas a few years back that I love, but when worn in place of my wedding bands, to me it looks like I got knocked up and we're having a shotgun wedding!

belly button in or out: Out.
maternity clothes: Basically wearing the same 8 things I own that still fit..
sleep: Not bad, but I've been waking up not feeling rested. Getting up at least twice a night for potty breaks.
missing: Not feeling so impatient?! I'm normally a very patient person.. but I guess it's something like this.. you know something big is about to happen, but you don't know when! The suspense must be killing me. Maybe that's why everyone says that time stands still your last month of pregnancy?
cravings/aversions: I think my cravings have come full circle.. I'm back on the chocolate milk train. And of course, could totally go for some of the summer drinks that are being advertised right now!
cries: Just a few tears over almost losing two of my friend's dogs while housesitting for her. Little furry escape artists..

nursery: It's done! It's done! We'll Version 1.0 is done! I hate that at the condo we can't hang her shelves {metal support studs.. can't drill into them!}, so I feel like there's a lot of empty space on her walls, but Version 2.0 will have everything just the way I want it!
ethan is: the sweetest. He knew I wasn't having a good day.. Blame it on my being "over" coming to work. Seriously, I've got senioritis bad, anyways, I came home this week to chocolate covered strawberries to cheer me up! He said he would have gotten flowers, but since I was pregnant, would like the strawberries better! Oh, they were so delicious!
best moments: Finishing her nursery.

not so best moments: Waiting to put her in that nursery.

looking forward to: putting Charlotte in her nursery! Haha! Are we catching a theme here?

next appointment: July 16 for our 39 week check up!

Last Weekend before the Baby?

 Well, it's Monday and there's no baby - so that means we've made it another weekend. ::Sigh::
It wasn't a bad weekend, but definitely not our norm. We housesat for a friend that was out of town, so we wouldn't be on the island during the busiest weekend of the year! The Red, White & Blues Air Show is by far Pensacola Beach's busiest weekend of the year! Official numbers haven't come out yet, but it's been estimated that nearly 300,000 people went to the show this year! Naturally, with that many people, getting on/off the island is a nightmare and this girl did NOT want to be that girl who went into labor and gave birth on the bridge! {Here's my post from last year's air show!}
But we didn't waste a gorgeous Saturday! It was spent at the pool with my Mom, sister and Ethan, complete with powdered donuts and Coke Icees! Later we went to Haverty's with my parents to look at furniture for our future home {Side note: if anyone would like to donate to the "we want really expensive bedroom furniture" fund, please feel free to do so} and then Iciban for sushi for dinner!
According to these pictures, I'd say I'm 1,000% ready to have this baby. Even my nose is pregnant. Thanks, Mom & Hannah for not even telling me my makeup is smeared! Ha!
{Ethan practicing some golf}
{38 weeks, 5 days!}
{Grabbed this from my sister's snap because I love my cheesy hubs in the back!}
{Everything we loved!}
Sunday we cleaned up our mess at my friend's house and headed home around 12. Grabbed some IHOP and basically chillaxed at home. People have been telling me and Ethan to "catch up on our sleep before the baby gets here," so that's what me and Ethan did Sunday afternoon - snuggly, long naps on the couch while watching golf! Kind of a perfect Sunday afternoon.
But, like I said.. it's now Monday and there's no baby, so I'm back at work, counting down the hours until 5 p.m. or wishing every other second that my water would break, so I could leave. Haha! The struggles of being 39 weeks {today! yay!} pregnant and working full-time! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
