Weekending || Home Decor & Grandpa's 80th Birthday

Another good weekend for the books.
Even though we really didn't "do" anything, time spent at home with Ethan and Charlotte is good enough for me!

Charlotte got some very special mail on Friday from the White House. We mailed President and Mrs. Obama one of her birth announcements a few weeks ago and they sent back a sweet little notecard full of well wishes. Definitely a neat little memento for her baby book!

That night we took Sporty Spice to dinner with us for a little sushi with my Mom, sister and her boyfriend.

{{Check out my Instagram for Cute Patoots laughing it up over Momma "fake coughing."}}

Saturday morning was super lazy. It was pretty gross outside, so we didn't want to venture out just yet with Char. She got a good mid-morning nap and once she woke up we headed out to do a few errands. We stopped by Academy for Ethan to get some new additions to his home gym and let Char try out a cute little pink bike! I can't believe one day we'll actually buy one for her and she'll have to learn to ride it!

I also convinced Ethan to come in Hobby Lobby with me to help me pick out some mantel décor. He didn't like the first stuff I picked out, so I told him he basically had to come in with me as I made my returns! I'm happy with the pieces we did pick out! Just a few more finishing touches and I think my mantel will be decorated just how I want it. Although.. I need someone to remind me to actually print pictures to put in the frames I bought.. I'm the world's worst at remembering that!

{Sweet girl is actually starting to show affection!! Eee!}

Saturday night we celebrated my Grandpa's 80th birthday! It was a lot of fun gathering at my Aunt's house for dinner with all my cousins and watching the babies play! Sadly I didn't take any pictures except for this one!

Sunday we went to church and then enjoyed a baby-free day thanks to my parents! I'm so blessed they love her so much and offer to watch her as much as they do! Me and Ethan got to grocery shop, meal prep, watch a little football, and nap!

We're currently both trying to lose the weight we've gained over the past year. I absolutely loved being pregnant, but it definitely took its toll on my waistline! We're one week in and we've both already lost a little! I've joined a DietBet online and have until January 31st to lose 7 pounds! I'm over halfway there, so I'm definitely feeling like I have a chance at winning!

NYE 2015

How's about some grainy iPhone photos to recount NYE 2015?! Haha! I promise one day I'll actually break out a real camera. New Year's resolution for 2016... nah!

We made reservations for dinner downtown at Global Grill. It's a super yummy tapas bar that until super recently I'd never been to! We girls had fun dressing up, but not so much fun wearing heels that we were dying in by the time the Pelican actually dropped! {{New York does a glittery ball drop at midnight, Pensacola does a glittery pelican drop at midnight!}}

{Sarah, Taylor, myself, and Katie}

All our fabulous makeup jobs compliments of Katie! We had so much fun all getting ready together that I totally forgot to get some pre-dinner pictures! Oh, and we were running a little late because we had to drop Charlotte off at my Mom's house. Thanks, Nana, for a baby-free night!

Dinner was, of course, delicious! Me and Ethan split two appetizers and shared a steak. The whole meal was pretty pricey, but so delicious, it's totally worth it!

{Literally just noticed our crazy photobomber..}

After dinner we went to O'Riley's to hang out. We really didn't have much of a "game plan" for the evening. Pretty much what happens when you let the guys plan NYE, but the table and chairs at O'Riley's were much appreciated by my feet! We stayed there just long enough to rest our feet and wait till it was a little closer to midnight for the Pelican Drop.

{Seriously.. us and photobombers.}

{At least I like this photobomber!}

Everyone crowds in the best they can to watch the Pelican Drop. We didn't really care to watch it drop, but figured since it was only 15 minutes until midnight, we'd stay just for midnight, then make a mad dash for our cars to beat the traffic. The plan worked pretty well and we didn't get stuck in crazy traffic. Afterwards we all met back up at our house where we all changed into comfy clothes and hung out till around 2.

{A little rain can't bring us down!}

Ok, so there is one picture that a "real" camera took. This guy was walking around asking if people wanted their pictures taken for his website. We thought it sounded fishy, but smiled instead. The picture is actually pretty decent considering it's midnight, it had been raining, and we were all dying to get out of our "fancy" clothes! ::insert laughing crying emoji::

Maybe next year I can convince everyone we need to do a NYE cruise.. because duh! And if I've learned anything from looking back at these pictures, it's that there's a photobomber in every single group shot.. Oh well. It was still a night full of fun and friends!

'Tis the Season with Charbaby

Image Map
This year being Charlotte's 1st Christmas, I was determined to make the most of the season!

We wore festive pajamas to bed every night! These little red polka dot ones will forever be my favorite on her! Char even wore them to Sunday night church with a cute little green bow! Ha!

We decorated our first real Christmas tree! It was ridiculously big, but it made Ethan so happy, how could I ever let him get a smaller one? That sucker was 10 feet tall and was inches away from touching our 11 feet ceilings. Hello, Clark Griswold. Also, I spy last year's Christmas card which will always and forever will be a favorite of mine. Another tradition we added this year {because Baby's 1st Christmas is a perfect time to add family traditions} was to always frame our Christmas card! Wish I would have taken a picture of this year's card before we packed everything up!

We have a giant wreath to go above the fireplace next Christmas! Thank you after Christmas décor sales! ;)

One of Charlotte's 1st Christmas ornaments! We ordered it from Lil Stinker Designs on Etsy and I couldn't be happier with the quality or the cuteness!

Special Christmas flowers from a dear, sweet friend while we were stressing about Charlotte's CT scan. Praise God everything turned out to be A-Okay with our little! So good, in fact, that she doesn't have to have a follow-up MRI! Which makes my heart sing because I was never comfortable with the idea of sedating Charlotte. Right now we're weaning her off her seizure medicine and watching her hit milestone after milestone. My precious miracle baby!

Getting some Christmas reading in!

Oh, my sweet girl who has the cutest gummy smile.. who looks like an awkward 3rd grader in her picture with Santa! Haha! At first she was NOT having the whole "sit in Santa's lap" thing, until Santa's helpers distracted her and slowly backed her into Santa's lap. She was none the wiser. I've come to find out that this is the look Charlotte gives strangers when they try to make her smile.

Looking rather adorable in her new fox hat while Mom and Dad do some Christmas shopping days before Christmas! Either she thinks we're crazy for shopping so late or crazy for being outside when it's so cold!

Ward Family Christmas dinner. Yummy food and good times with my Dad's side of the family!

Being the cutest little thumb sucker in church, wearing a dress I bought for her wayyy before she was born!

Not quite mastered the art of sitting up alone, hence Nana's hand ready to catch our little leaner..

Waiting for the results {{which were great}} of our CT scan and looking adorable while doing it!

Getting some Christmas Eve Eve snuggles with my girl in our matching penguin pajamas! Charlotte's not an overly snuggly baby, she's much to afraid she's going to miss out on something by closing her eyes, but when she does snuggle, my whole heart melts into one big 'ole pile of mush!

Christmas Tree Hunting

We went Christmas tree hunting at Bailey's Farmer's Market on December 3. It was amazing! Their selection of trees was great, the weather was gorgeous, and it definitely put us in the Christmas spirit! Our original plan was to buy a real tree this year, and buy a really nice artificial one after Christmas when they go on major sale. But.. we loved our real tree so much, we've decided to make tree hunting a family tradition!

We were a little late in the "tree picking game," so we've promised ourselves that next Christmas we are buying our tree the day after Thanksgiving to make the holiday season last just a little bit longer!

This is not the cute outfit I had planned for her to tree hunt in. Girlfriend had a major blowout at Nana's house right before we left. I'm just happy my mom had this cute onesie at her house!

And some post tree hunting, pre tree decorating belly laughs with Daddy!
